UK boxing promotion BOXXER remains focused on its commercial approach of partnering with local businesses, signing a deal with a North West England-based enterprise.
Manchester-headquartered BOXXER revealed this week that it has struck a deal with Car Finance 247, a car financing and loan company also based in the North West’s largest city.
The partnership will follow a similar format to previous marketing deals BOXXER has inked in the past. The core caveats wil see Car Finance 247 branding displayed during BOXXER events, including ring canvas and ropes, and mentions by the MC during live broadcasts.
Headed up by CEO Ben Shalom, BOXXER is one of the UK’s largest boxing promotions, alongside Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom and Frank Warren’s Queensbury. The firm counts some notable names on its roster including Frazer Clarke, Natasha Jonas, Savannah Marshall and Joshua Buatsi.
Reg and Louis Rix, Owners of Car Finance 247, said: “We’re excited to be BOXXER’s official car finance partner. As a business born-and-bred in Manchester, Car Finance 247 is proud to join forces with a local company that is reinventing boxing promotion just as we have transformed the car finance industry.
“Our shared ambitions, commitment to inclusivity, and passion for innovation are sure to make this long-term collaboration a knockout success. We look forward to supporting emerging talents making their mark in the global boxing arena while also raising awareness of our platform to help more people access car finance freedom.”
BOXXER’s partnerships have played a key role in the promotion’s rise to prominence in the UK, with notable deals inked in both the broadcast and marketing spaces. In the former, the promotion has secured substantial visibility in the UK via its partnership with Sky Sports, and in the US with NBC.
Its approach to partnering with local and regional businesses has also been shown in its arrangement with bet365, the international betting operator founded in Staffordshire, just over 40 miles from Manchester. This partnership, and the ones with Sky and NBC, were discussed in depth in a conversation between Insider Sport and Ben Shalom earlier this year.
On the Car Finance 247 deal, Shalom remarked: “We’re delighted to welcome Car Finance 247 to BOXXER’s roster of partners. With our shared origins in Manchester, the Car Finance 247 success and growth story in recent years is one we’ve admired and reflects how we’ve grown BOXXER from humble beginnings in the North-West.
“Having initially collaborated with Car Finance 247 around the hugely successful Fabio Wardley v Frazer Clarke event earlier this year – which drew a TV audience of 1.7 million on Sky Sports – locking in a longer-term partnership made a lot of sense for both sides, and we can’t wait to take things to the next level.”
