The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and broadcaster Sport 24 have renewed its broadcast rights deal that will extend to 2028.
The deal extension will see Sport 24 continue to broadcast AFC 2026 World Cup Qualifying matches, as well as the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup, and the AFC Champions League Elite from 2025 to 2029.
Datuk Seri Windsor John, AFC General Secretary, said: “The AFC is delighted to extend its partnership with Sport 24, which will showcase not only the ever-improving quality of the AFC’s competitions but also expand the reach of Asian football to more audiences.
“We thank Sport 24 for their steadfast belief in the AFC’s world-class competitions and we are excited to strengthen our partnership with them as we strive to create more memorable moments for our passionate fans and travellers all across the world.”
As part of the new deal, Sport 24 will continue to broadcast AFC competitions on airlines, such as Etihad Airways, and cruise lines extend its scope and reach to audiences when travelling.
Owned and operated by IMG, Sport 24 has several deals in place with airlines and cruises to showcase a myriad of sports. Etihad, Emirates, Turkish Airlines, Singapore Airlines are some of the companies with deals in place, with MSC Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line and Princess Cruises amongst several cruise lines with agreements.
Alongside its offering of AFC competitions, Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra also shows action from the NFL, NBA, Formula One, golf, tennis and cricket.
