US Figure Skating has appointed longtime Olympic movement executive Matt Farrell as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective May 19.
Farrell brings nearly three decades of sports industry experience, including a 13-year tenure as Chief Marketing Officer at USA Swimming, where he helped deliver record-breaking sponsorship revenue and membership growth.
He most recently served as CEO of Bat Around, a mixed-reality sports tech platform, while also leading his own consultancy, Farrell Sports.
The hire comes at an important time for US Skating, with the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympics on the horizon. Farrell’s remit will include driving membership growth, commercial strategy, and stakeholder engagement at both national and international levels.

His appointment is seen as a major move to elevate the network into a 24/7 global streaming brand for racquet sports enthusiasts.
“Tennis Channel is a sports treasure,” said Blackburn, who joins with deep personal passion for the sport and sits on the boards of Roku, DoorDash, and UTR Sports.
