The PFL is making strides in expanding its presence and visibility amongst Spanish-speaking audiences through various media rights deals.
The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has announced a new multi-year broadcast deal with FOX in Mexico and wider Central America.
Canal FOX, FOX on Tubi and FOX One will broadcast 24 live PFL events and programming in Central American markets this year, with the media rights deal starting with PFL Dubai on February 7.
PFL confirmed in a statement to Insider Sport that 16 global live events will be available for Central American viewers, as well as eight PFL International events, such as PFL Madrid and events as part of its PFL MENA and PFL Africa series.
The partnership also includes additional PFL content, such as weigh-in shows, event-week specials, and athlete-focused programming.
FOX will also gain access to PFL’s archive library enabling its Central Market broadcasters to show footage of past title fights, seasons and the ability to create long-form promotional content ahead of major events.
“PFL is proud to partner with FOX to deliver our world-class MMA product to millions of fans across Mexico and Central America,” said John Martin, CEO of the PFL.
“This region is home to one of the most passionate combat sports communities in the world. FOX’s unmatched reach across pay TV and streaming will accelerate our growth and elevate our athletes on a massive stage.”
PFL partnership extension
In March 2025, the PFL and FOX Sports Mexico signed a multi-year partnership to broadcast live events in Spanish.
FOX Sports Mexico aired the 2025 PFL World Tournament, Champions Series, PFL Europe, MENA and Africa last year.
With the PFL becoming available on additional FOX platforms, the company will be seeking to increase its Central America and Spanish-speaking audiences in parallel with its global expansion plans.
The PFL has added several Spanish-speaking fighters to its roster in recent months, such as Acoidan Duque to gain larger audience share in Spanish-speaking countries, as well as Dutch-Spanish PFL Middleweight Champion Costello van Steenis.
Former PFL CEO Peter Murray said during the first FOX broadcast deal last year that the company views the Latin American market as one of the “fastest-growing regions in the sport”.
