FC Zenit Saint Petersburg has struck a multi-year partnership with fan engagement platform, IQONIQ, which will see the firm have its logo featured on the top back of the club’s shirt.

IQONIQ has also been named as Zenit’s official and exclusive fan engagement platform with the partnership set to utilise ‘new digital trends to enhance its relationship with its fans’.

Alexander Medvedev, General Director of FC Zenit, said, “We are happy to announce the beginning of our multi-year partnership with the new digital platform IQONIQ. I am sure this partnership will be effective and beneficial for both parties.

“The role of modern technologies cannot be overemphasised – our life is moving forward in the virtual world, all of our activities are going hand in hand with smartphones, tablets, laptops and other gadgets.

“Zenit has to be a leader, not only on the football field, but also in the fan engagement area, and we are trying to use every possibility to increase our fan-base. Cooperation with IQONIQ is one of these possibilities, as it is a brand-new ambitious project, which has such partners such as EuroLeague Basketball, a Formula-1 team and several European football clubs.”

The new fan engagement platform combines modern-day features of fandom to provide people with a unique ‘fan club’ which offers experiences and engagements with specific star individuals and organisations.

As a result of the deal, FC Zenit fans will have access to a breadth of features including exclusive and aggregated content, a loyalty program, customised footage, in-app games, merchandise and ticket offers, plus the opportunity to win a range of exclusive prizes and more.

Kazim Atilla, CEO of IQONIQ, added: “We are very happy to partner with Zenit Football Club. Our mission is to provide innovative new solutions to further and deepen fan engagement, and partnering with such a fan-focused club provides our ideal first touchpoint in Russia as we continue our global expansion.

“At IQONIQ, we are focused on changing the game for fan engagement, offering a range of services for fans that have never been seen before in one place, and we are looking forward to offering Zenit’s growing fan base unique opportunities to get more personal, more rewarding and more purposeful with their club than ever before”.

As Medvedev alluded to prior, IQONIQ has already partnered with a range of football clubs such as Olympique de Marseille, AS Monaco and North Carolina FC, with Zenit being the first Russian side to sign a deal with the platform. Additionally, the firm’s other partners include Euroleague Basketball, the Drone Champions League, the European Handball Federation, and McLaren F1 Team.
