Broadcaster NBC Sports has renewed its multi-year agreement with the Atlantic 10 (A-10) collegiate conference to provide coverage of men’s and women’s basketball.
Under the terms of the agreement NBC Sports will broadcast more than 35 A-10 men’s and women’s basketball games, including more than 25 regular-season games and eight games of the A-10 Men’s Basketball Championship.
The Atlantic 10 – which is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year – is one of the top mid-major collegiate athletics conferences in the US, and the renewal marks “10 years with the A-10,” with the first agreement between the sports body and NBC dating back to October 2012.
Marc Iacovelli, Senior Director of Programming, NBC Sports, said: “We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with the Atlantic 10 Conference, which consistently provides high-quality, compelling competition for college basketball fans across the nation.
“We’ve enjoyed a great relationship with the A-10 and Commissioner McGlade for the better part of a decade and we look forward to showcasing the conference in the years to come.”
The 14 Atlantic 10 institutions are located in states with a total 33.3 million television households, representing around 30% of the US media market.
Of these institutions, eight are located in the top 25 American media markets, and all 14 are located in or adjacent to the top 65 markets.
In addition to the recent agreement with NBC, A-10 men’s and women’s basketball matches will also broadcast on ESPN and NBC, under the terms of agreements signed in November 2020.
“The Atlantic 10 has enjoyed a strong relationship with NBC Sports for the past eight years,” commented Bernadette V. McGlade, Atlantic 10 Commissioner.
“NBC Sports’ high-quality productions during the regular season and across eight championship games have provided tremendous distribution for the conference. This extension is exciting and we’re looking forward to continuing this great partnership.”
