DAZN Group has launched a boxing-focused NFT global marketplace, DAZNBOXING.io, with the first collection including ‘exciting moments’ from 2021 DAZN fights.

This new offering is part of, what the firm has described as, its ‘evolution into a 360° entertainment ecosystem’, where fans can engage with different sports in various ways.

Shay Segev, CEO, DAZN Group, stated: “DAZN is sport. We continue to diversify our platform, taking the fan experience to another level and becoming the world’s single digital destination for sports fans. NFTs are part of that story.”

Some of the fights within the collection have been revealed as Parker vs. Chisora, Estrada vs. Chocolatito, Cameron vs. McGee, Haney vs. Diaz and Lopez vs. Kambosos, to name a few.

Available for purchase with both crypto and traditional currencies, the NFTs come in a variety of short video clips and still images, with ‘rarities’ scattered throughout the mystery packs.

“This gives boxing fans the ability to purchase an affordable piece of digital memorabilia from their favourite sport, and allows them to have a deeper, more interactive and enriching experience with DAZN,” added Ian Turnbull, DAZN EVP New Revenues.

The group further highlighted its growth strategy to offer fans a range of ‘richer and more engaging’ sports entertainment content to enjoy alongside live sports streaming.

The announcement follows the launch of DAZN MOMENTS, DAZN Group’s sports-dedicated NFT marketplace in Japan. Similarly, DAZN MOMENTS features a limited-edition NFT collection in partnership with Meiji Yasuda Seimei J.League.
Earlier this year, DAZN similarly moved to broaden its business enterprise by announcing the launch of its own sportsbook app, DAZN Bet, announcing the appointment of several experienced industry executives to head the new venture in the following months.
