AC Milan has confirmed a partnership with eBay, which sees the American multinational e-commerce company become the official marketplace of the Rossoneri.

The deal sees the opening of the AC Milan store on eBay.it, where fans of the Serie A club will be able to access what has been described as an ‘exclusive experience’ that will allow them to purchase original team merchandise.

Maikel Oettle, Sponsorship Sales Director of AC Milan, commented: “Today we announce a partnership between two international and prestigious brands, recognisable all over the world.

“We are particularly proud to provide our fans with an additional touchpoint to bring them even closer to the AC Milan world through the creation of an AC Milan store on the eBay platform.

“Launching a store on eBay underlines the innovative spirit of the club, which is always focused on improving the experience of our fans also in the digital world.”

Furthermore, the pair have underlined that the collaboration is predominantly based on the sharing of objectives and values with the ‘concept of passion’ at the heart of the agreement.

“We are very excited about this partnership, which for us represents a further demonstration of the centrality of our community,” added Alice Acciarri, General Manager of eBay Italy, added.

“The union of two important global brands will be able to further consolidate the relationship with our users, with the ambition to nurture their interests, passions and experiences.”

Earlier this month, the club saw a €1.2bn takeover as the owners of the New York Yankees partnered with RedBird Capital to complete the acquisition.

The US investment firm now continues to fund advances in the club’s sporting and commercial interests.
