NBA Champion and two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and his three brothers have become the latest investors in the TGL’s Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC).

The Milwaukee Bucks power forward and his brothers Alex, Kostas and Thanasis join the likes of Serena and Venus Williams as investors of the LA-based golf franchise, with Antetokounmpo announcing his excitement to ‘shape the future of the sport’.

The TGL is a newly-formed golf league which was founded by TMRW Sports’ and golf icons Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy to help innovate the sport by incorporating advanced tech and live action functions.

LAGC is the inaugural franchise that will participate in the TGL and will commence its first season in January 2024, in partnership with the PGA Tour.

Being one of the NBA’s best and most recognisable players, Antetokounmpo will look to use his stature and presence to help grow the game for further adoption.

Co-Founder of Reddit and LAGC investor, Alexis Ohanian, spoke on the Greek basketball player and his brothers’ involvement in the team.

He stated: “Few things in life are better than getting to work with your friends. The Antetokounmpo fam is so remarkably aligned with our team’s values, and their inspiring story speaks to our mission to show that golf is for everyone.”

LAGC will be Antetokounmpo’s third investment into a major league sports team, after already securing a stake in Major League Baseball’s Milwaukee Brewers and Major League Soccer’s Nashville SC.
