TGL, the new golf league backed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TMRW Sports, has brought Samsung onboard as its official screen partner.
Samsung will provide a leadership role alongside SoFi, the title sponsor of TGL, to deliver high-quality screen experiences for fans in-stadium and watching at home as its newest partner.
Additionally, TGL’s custom-built SoFi Center will showcase Samsung’s commercial-grade LED displays to create a viewing experience across the golf leagues’ season of matches beginning this January.
David Phelps, Head of the Display Division at Samsung Electronics America, said: “TGL is redefining the sport of golf, combining high-energy entertainment with state-of-the-art technology to bring fans closer to the action – from screen to green.
“Samsung displays play a key role in amplifying excitement among spectators of the sport, turning every TGL match into a dynamic spectacle, comparable to other arena-based, team sports events. Together, we’re helping create a new kind of golf viewing experience to captivate longtime enthusiasts while inspiring a new generation of fans.”
TGL looks to differentiate itself from traditional golf by utilising advanced technology and 1,250-squares-foot LED video boards for top PGA Tour golfers such as Woods, McIlroy and more compete in six separate teams of four golfers in two-hour weekly competitions.
This is where Samsung’s electronics expertise will prove to be vital. The company will provide its XRB Series Outdoor display outside of the SoFi Centre main entrance, as well as its Samsung ISC Series Indoor display.
Jason Langwell, Chief Revenue Officer, TMRW Sports and TGL, stated: “Adding Samsung, a global leader in electronics and design, to our growing roster of partners underscores our commitment to excellence as we continue to build out our commercial program for TGL presented by SoFi.
“Samsung’s expertise and high-quality products are tremendously valued and will be integral to the TGL experience inside SoFi Center and the in-home viewing experience for fans around the world.”
