Stats Perform has signed a multi-year extension of its partnership with Checkd Group’s Checkd Dev division focusing on delivery of Opta sports data.

The London-based sportstech and data provider will continue to deliver its Opta product to support Checkd dev’s Smart Acca betting tool for football and US sports in online and mobile sportsbooks.

Smart Acca is used to generate pre-match betting research into football markets – such as goal scorers, shots, shots on target and fouls – by UK operators including William Hill and Flutter Entertainment’s Paddy Power and Sky Bet for fan engagement and customer retention.

Andrew Grimshaw, Commercial Director at Checkd Dev, said: “This is an important deal with a long-term valued partner in Stats Perform, which means bettors using Smart Acca in their chosen sportsbook are using Opta data, the most recognised and trusted sports stats in the business.

“Bettors are presented with the most relevant competition and market selections ranked by statistical form leading to compelling betting opportunities. In addition, all of this is displayed on a single page meaning they can place accumulators faster than traditional online journeys.

“Smart Acca has been a landmark hit with bettors both through our proprietary B2C products and when licensed to leading operator partners in the UK. It’s the perfect complement to any sportsbook offering multi-game and same-game accumulators. We look forward to providing it to a broad range of new partners, across more competitions and sports.”

The partnership continues Checkd Dev’s long-standing use of Stats Perform’s Opta product, one of the company’s flagship solutions. Manchester-based Checkd Dev first built the Smart Acca product for its Betting Hub app, utilising Opta team and player stats.

North America is a market high on the group’s agenda at the moment, with it gaining particular momentum in the continent via its FlashPicks app, which like Smart Acca also utilises Opta data feeds. The company also made a significant splash in boxing last month with the launch of the Boxing News app, in a partnership with iD Sports Media.

Meanwhile, the renewal of the deal with Stats Perform follows the latter’s clinching of data deals with some prominent sports tournaments last year, including Tennis Australia and the World Tennis Association (WTA).

Nick Cockerill, VP of Betting Products at Stats Perform, added: “Smart Acca technology is a very impressive betting solution that has already enriched and simplified the process of choosing an accumulator bet for end users.

“We’re proud that Checkd Dev has chosen Opta data to build trusted, magical experiences from the detail of sport. Smart Acca is a great example of one of those experiences – a highly innovative B2B product that showcases how our sports data helps bring fans and bettors closer to the game.”
