West Ham United has signed another heavy-hitting company into its sponsorship portfolio, partnering with global energy drinks giant Red Bull.

The partnership further strengthens Red Bull’s links with top-flight football. The company has been building an extensive presence in the sport in recent years, notably in its home market of Austria and in neighbouring Germany, but increasingly in England also.

Terms of the agreement see Red Bull become the partner of the West Ham men’s and women’s teams, gaining visibility at the club’s London Stadium and Chigwell Construction Stadium, the respective home grounds of the men’s and women’s teams, via in-stadia branding.

“We are extremely proud to announce our partnership with Red Bull,” said Nathan Thompson, West Ham United’s Chief Commercial Officer.

“It is fantastic to welcome the world’s biggest energy drink company to our growing family of valued partners. We look forward to a mutually beneficial and successful partnership for both organisations, our teams and our fans over the coming years.”

The agreement comes just a few days after Red Bull inked a partnership with Everton FC and a couple of weeks after a deal with Newcastle United FC, two of West Ham’s Premier League opponents. The Austrian firm seems to be eyeing up more visibility in the English top-flight, one of the most valuable and widely viewed sports leagues in the world.

Red Bull is a familiar brand to many football fans due to its aforementioned links with Austria and German football. RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig are two successful teams in their respective leagues and regular staples of European competition.
