The Rugby League World Cup 2021 has named Glory Days as its official international fan travel provider to manage and work with approved agents, providing a range of global ticket-inclusive experiences as a result.

Glory Days’ partnership comes as a variety of competitions and leagues are looking to slowly bring back crowds to sporting events following the global health pandemic. A particular emphasis has been put on not only ensuring that fans come back to events, but that they do so in a safe manner which mitigates any risk.

Along with managing and working with international agents for the England-hosted competition, Glory Days will also provide a direct to consumer retail programme for fans. The programme will particularly focus on emerging nations to build engagement and ‘drive a legacy’ for the tournament’s fan travel plan.

Jonathan Neill, Commercial Director at RLWC2021, stated: “With 21 unique nations represented across our 32 participating teams, and millions of rugby league fans around the world, we are looking forward to welcoming international visitors to England next year.

“Crowds are slowly coming back to sporting events which are providing added consumer confidence, so we hope Rugby League World Cup 2021 offers a world class event for people to plan for and look forward to. We will offer a full refund should there be Government restrictions which lead to reduced capacities or if the event is cancelled due to circumstances out of our control.

“We expect up to 10 per cent of our ticketed audience to be international fans and with Glory Days want to provide unforgettable and unique experiences within England, including at our 18 host towns and cities.”

Glory Days has previously been associated with Rugby League’s premier international tournament via a world travel partnership with League Express for the 2017 World Cup in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

Dave Hardy, Managing Director at Glory Days, added: “Glory Days is passionate about rugby league and the role that Rugby League World Cup 2021 can play in the sport. With our expert knowledge and experience on international event travel we’re looking forward to working with the team and agents across the world to enhance the fan experience at the biggest and best Rugby League World Cup ever.”
