LaLiga has secured a partnership with OneFootball as the league launches its official profile on the platform.

The deal sees the Spanish top-division aim to expand its digital reach and ‘seek new touchpoints’ to engage with fans globally.

“Being on key platforms like OneFootball is essential for LaLiga, to reach millions of fans and new users that can enjoy the most of the best league in the world,” commented Alfredo Bermejo, LaLiga’s Director of Digital Strategy.

“The agreement with OneFootball allows us to position ourselves at the forefront of the entertainment industry.”

LaLiga will become the first league to use its official account to share all club news, interviews, match reports and videos, including a selection of matchday highlights footage, in Spanish and English.

The platform has outlined how the collaboration will allow the league to reach its audience of over 100 million monthly active users, giving fans news and updates through a ‘fully personalised home feed’ on its app and website.

Notably, the group has highlighted that 75% of its users are aged between 17 and 34-years-old.

Lucas von Cranach, Founder and CEO, OneFootball, added: “LaLiga is one of the biggest and most exciting football leagues in the world, and is consistently among the most-followed competitions on OneFootball.

“It is our aim to become the platform of choice for football leagues around the world to share their content with the new generation of fans, and we’re delighted LaLiga has opened an account to expand the reach of one of the best leagues in the world.

LaLiga becomes the latest major league to join the OneFootball platform’s partnership portfolio which consists of more than 130 clubs, leagues and federations, which are currently distributing original content to their fans via OneFootball.

von Cranach concluded: “We’re so excited to welcome LaLiga to our network and can’t wait to start sharing amazing content featuring FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Valencia CF, Atlético de Madrid and the rest of the league with our users.”
