Formula One has revealed that IMG has secured the in-ship and inflight rights to broadcast the sport through its Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra channels for the next three seasons.

Marking IMG’s return to F1, the partnership will see Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra broadcast over 150 hours of live coverage as well as highlights from all race weekends to travelling fans.

Michaella Snoeck, Head of Media Rights at Formula One, commented: “As Formula One continues to grow around the world, we are excited that we can now broadcast Formula One live in-ship and inflight to travelling fans.

“The last few seasons have shown that the drama and excitement of Formula One is not to be missed. Now, together with Sport 24, fans will be able to enjoy the spectacle of F1 wherever they are.”

Starting with the Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix on 5 March, 2023 will feature a 23-race schedule, across five continents, including the inaugural Formula One Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix.

“We are delighted to bring Formula One back to Sport 24,” added Richard Wise, SVP, Content and Channels at IMG Media. “This exciting deal means passengers no longer have to miss out on all the exciting Formula One action when they travel.

“Formula One is a truly global event attracting a worldwide fanbase, and we’re thrilled to offer our airline and cruise ship partners the very best of motorsport alongside a diverse portfolio of some of the biggest global live sports rights.”
