Game data platform GRID has become the official esports live data provider of the BLAST Rainbow Six (R6) Major Atlanta tournament, hosted by game developer Ubisoft.

With the new collaboration, both entities will look to deliver ‘data-driven opportunities’ for both players and fans of the R6 esports ecosystem through advanced broadcasting techniques, monitoring integrity, as well as coaching practices.

Moritz Maurer, CEO and Founder of GRID Esports, said: “The legacy of Rainbow Six Siege is a great foundation to build upon and we are excited to make esports game data part of this incredible ecosystem.

“Partnering with Ubisoft, we are looking forward to leveraging together the GRID Data Platform for the purpose of building an esports data ecosystem and fueling growth of the Rainbow Six Esports scene.”

Starting with Atlanta, the partnership will cover all other major R6 global and regional tournaments, with GRID responsible for the distribution of all BLAST R6 data assets.

These assets represent granular, real-time, in-game statistics for professional players, teams and matchups.

Francois Tallec, VP, Brand and Transmedia, Partnerships at Ubisoft, added: “At Ubisoft, we recognize the need to innovate in the fast-paced space that esports is, and to keep our community constantly engaged.

“Our partnership with GRID and the shared understanding of our esports data’s potential promises to unlock exciting opportunities to engage fans and innovate across the board.”
