Aston Villa has announced sportswear retailer JD as the club’s official retail partner ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Under the multi-year partnership, JD will stock Aston Villa merchandise online and in select stores nationwide. The Premier League club hopes the deal will secure an increased retail reach and enhance the club’s ability to meet demand for official products.

Michael Armstrong, Global Managing Director at JD, stated: “Aston Villa is a historic club and a brilliant addition to our growing presence in the English top-flight of football. Our partnership will allow JD to further improve the consumer experience for Villa fans and those in the area.”

JD has a wide array of partnerships in the world of sports. Most recently, the retailer became the shirt sleeve sponsor of Wolverhampton Wanderers for two seasons.

Preparing for the new season, Aston Villa named Adidas the club’s official kit partner. This deal saw the club replace Castore after the men’s and women’s teams criticised the brand due to the “wet-look” design that they believed affected their performances.

To celebrate its partnership with Villa, JD, known for creating iconic adverts, has published a short film about the future of the club. The advert plays on the club’s long-awaited return to the Champions League while showing some of the iconic goals of last season that helped them qualify.

Chris Heck, President of Business Operations at Aston Villa, said: “This partnership with JD, a leading global sport and fashion retailer, is going to make a big difference to the way we approach our retail operation.

“Their international reach, alongside their huge presence in the UK, will allow us to showcase our retail offering on a world-wide scale alongside our revamped store at Villa Park.”
