Argentine football club Racing Club has extended its partnership with sports betting operator Betsson after a successful near two-year partnership.

Having previously donned the back of Racing Club shirts for the past two seasons, Betsson will now become the front-of-shirt sponsor of the team gaining more exposure for its brand.

Racing Club President and former Inter Milan striker, Diego Milito, expressed hope that the partnership will continue “for many years, further elevating Racing Club’s legacy and delighting its passionate fanbase”.

The extension comes timely for both parties as they edge closer to the second anniversary of the partnership being first signed in May 2023. The Betsson logo was branded on the upper back of Racing Club shirts for all domestic and international matches.

During an episode of the Behind The Badge podcast, Roby Martinez Alvarez, Marketing, Commercial and Communications at Racing Club, commented how the initial Betsson agreement was a “huge branding and sponsor”, as well touching on the Socios ownership model and more.

As part of the new deal, Betsson will also receive branding on new kits for La Academia, which were unveiled Friday, 24 January during the first-round match of the First Division tournament against Barracas Central.

The new agreement is set for two years, with the option to renew for an additional two. Betsson has also committed to enhancing fan engagement by creating exclusive experiences for Racing Club members and supporters across Latin America, including events, raffles, and other activities to bring the club closer to its community and followers.

Jesper Svensson, CEO of Betsson Group, stated, “We are thrilled to take our partnership with Racing Club to the next level as their main sponsor. Racing Club’s rich history, passion, and excellence mirror Betsson’s core values, making this collaboration a natural fit.

“Together, we are ready to continue achieving great success and strengthening our shared vision for the future.”

Betsson’s presence across Argentinian football continues to expand with the Racing Club extension, but also with its existing deal with Boca Juniors
The betting and casino operator is also the front-of-shirt sponsor of Boca Juniors and recently extended its agreement with the 35-time Primera Division champions. Betsson now has front-of-shirt sponsorship deals with two of the biggest clubs in the country.
