The UFC and mobile charging brand Anker have formed a new partnership catered to its fans in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.

As the Official Charging Partner of the UFC, Anker will look to enhance the fan experience at UFC shows in the region through its charging technology integrated within arenas for fans in attendance.

Anker’s power delivery systems, renowned for its speed and reliability, was a key reason for the UFC’s interest, citing that it ‘aligned perfectly with UFC’s shared ethos of relentless pursuit of speed, power and exceptional performance’.

Faisal Shah, General Manager of Anker Innovations MEA, stated: “Our collaboration with UFC is a powerful reflection of Anker’s dedication to innovation and excellence. At Anker, we’re not just about charging devices; we’re about energising lives and enhancing the experience of every user with speed, efficiency, and reliability.

“This partnership goes beyond technology; it’s about charging up the spirit of competition and resilience that defines both Anker and UFC. Aligning with the UFC for their landmark event in Saudi Arabia symbolises our shared passion for pushing the envelope and setting new benchmarks.

“We are thrilled to bring our advanced charging technology to the epicentre of the action, ensuring that fans and athletes remain connected to what matters most.”

As the UFC embarks on its debut show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia next June, Anker will have significant coverage surrounding the event, headlined by the middleweight bout between Robert Whittaker and Khamzat Chimaev

UFC has been pushing its presence in the MEA region in recent years, with multiple PPV and Fight Night cards held in Abu Dhabi. The Riyadh show will follow other cards such as UFC Fight Night on 3 August and UFC 308 on 26 October, both held in Abu Dhabi.

Nick Smith, Vice President, Head of International Business Development, Global Partnership of UFC & WWE, added: “We’re delighted to collaborate with Anker and be their first ever partnership in sports.

“Anker is an innovative brand with pioneering charging solutions in a key region for our business, the Middle East. Similar to UFC, Anker is a trailblazing brand that makes industry first moves.”

TKO Group, the publicly traded company which merged the UFC and WWE, is expected to release its Q1 2024 results on 8 May.
