UEFA has confirmed that Adidas will remain the official match ball supplier for the Champions League for the next three seasons.
The three-year deal allows Adidas to provide the official match balls for all UEFA Champions League fixtures starting from the play-offs, featuring new designs each season. This agreement also extends to the UEFA Super Cup, UEFA Youth League and UEFA Futsal Champions League.
This year is pivotal for UEFA, with major changes in all three of its top club competitions. For the first time, all three tournaments are sponsored by gambling companies – Betano for the UEFA Conference League and Europa League, and bet365 for the Champions League.
Amidst these shifts, fans might find comfort in the continued partnership with the German sportswear company, which has been ongoing since 2001 and is now extended through 2027.
Guy-Laurent Epstein, Marketing Director at UEFA, commented: “UEFA is thrilled to continue its long-standing partnership with Adidas. Both of our respective organisations are committed to innovation and excellence in football, and we’re excited to extend our relationship into 2027.”
As part of the deal, Adidas will continue its partnership with Common Goal, pledging 1% of global net sales from Adidas footballs, including the latest models, to support initiatives that promote social change in under-served communities and foster a more inclusive future.
For this season’s competition, the sports supplier has revealed the new official match ball. It showcases stars, a hallmark of the competition, in black against a white hexagon pattern alongside subtle accents in turbo red and solar yellow.
Bjørn Gulden, CEO of Adidas, stated: “Adidas is proud to continue the partnership with UEFA for the Champions League. This tournament is the most prestigious event for European clubs and we are excited to continue being part of this excellent and innovative competition. We started in 2001 already and look forward to a successful future together.”
In other areas of the prestigious European competition, new partnerships are emerging. Aston Villa is set to mark its return to the Champions League after 42 years tonight (17 September), celebrating the occasion with a new partnership with Betano.
