The Fédération Française de Rugby (FFR) has named Betclic as its official sportsbook sponsor – the organisation’s first-ever sports betting partner.
Running until 2028, the three-year deal will support all levels of French rugby, from amateur clubs to the national team, as reported by SBC News.
As part of the agreement, Betclic will collaborate with the FFR to educate coaching teams on competition integrity, responsible gaming and ethical practices, aligning with the Federation’s Charter of 15 Social Responsibility Commitments.
The partnership also extends to the Rugby au Cœur fund, which promotes social inclusion through rugby, benefiting underprivileged communities across France.
Florian Grill, President of the FFR stated: “This partnership with Betclic is a win for the FFR as it includes media campaigns that enhance rugby’s visibility and recognition among the general public.
“More importantly, Betclic is also committed to supporting us through the Rugby au Cœur fund, which backs civic initiatives and educational efforts through sport in our 2,000 amateur rugby clubs.”
Founded in 2005, Betclic has long supported rugby in France, previously partnering with Top 14 clubs, including its hometown team, Union Bordeaux-Bègles.
Nicolas Béraud, Founder and CEO of Betclic, said: “One in two Betclic players bets on rugby. This partnership with the FFR aligns with their expectations and complements our existing partnerships with the National Rugby League and Union Bordeaux-Bègles.
“We are proud to support, alongside the FFR, all the passionate individuals – whether volunteers or professionals – who bring rugby to life. This agreement reflects our commitment to upholding the values of this unique and widely cherished sport.”
In 2023, Liga Portugal revealed that Betclic is the official title sponsor of Portugal’s top-tier football league, which will be called ‘Liga Portugal Betclic’ until the 2026/27 season.
