Eurosport strengthens tennis
portfolio with Davis Cup deal

Eurosport has confirmed a two-year TV and digital rights partnership with the International Tennis Federation to show the Davis Cup by Rakuten finals in the UK and five other European markets.

The deal means Eurosport has acquired the rights to the tournament in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and the UK, it will have the opportunity to enjoy the premier international team event in men’s tennis finals live on Eurosport and Eurosport Player and on-demand via Eurosport’s digital platforms in 2019 and 2020.

This year’s finals, which are set to feature the best players from all over the world, will be hosted in Madrid’s “La Caja Magica” between 18-24 November, with Eurosport enhancing engagement throughout the tournament with new camera angles and augmented reality to enhance their viewing experience.

The deal strengthens Eurosport’s tennis portfolio with it also recently announcing new multi-year deals with ATP and ATP Media to screen the ATP Tour in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.  The deals follow on from similar agreements over the past 12 months in France, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Russia.

November will be a bumper month of tennis for fans in Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, who will be able to enjoy the Next Gen ATP Finals live on Eurosport from Milan, Italy. Eurosport will provide live coverage of every point on all platforms and devices, including its leading OTT streaming service – Eurosport Player. 

The final of the 2019 Davis Cup will take place at the 12,500-capacity Manolo Santana Stadium in the Caja Magica Complex on Sunday 24 November.
