FC Barcelona and Estrella Damm have announced a five-year extension of their partnership that sees the latter remain the Spanish football giant’s official global partner.

Estrella Damm will also retain its status as FC Barcelona’s official beer partner and to celebrate the partnership extension, the Spanish beer brand will launch a new campaign titled ‘Un día de partit’.

As FC Barcelona continues to play at its temporary home Estadi Olímpic Lluis Companys whilst the Camp Nou is under renovations, Estrella Damm will encourage fans to attend games at the stadium.

The Un día de partit campaign tells the story of Pau, a young FC Barcelona fan who would rather watch games at home than go to the home stadium as it is “cold up there”.

Directed by Oriol Villar, the campaign video goes back to the summer of 1992 of the Barcelona Olympic Games, a sporting event that Estrella Damm also sponsored.

Furthermore, the beer brand will also receive “major presence” across the Olímpic Lluis Companys and the Camp Nou once renovations have been completed.

Both parties will continue to work closely on the FC Barcelona’s gastronomic services, appearing at all leisure and catering outlets around the club grounds.

Both the men’s and women’s editions of the Joan Gamper Trophy and the awards for the Man or Woman of the Match are other projects that have traditionally brought Barça and Estrella Damm together at the start of each season.

The partnership between the two entities has been a storied relationship, spanning across 25 years.
