Crystal Palace has named financial services platform and money transfer provider, Mukuru, as the Premier League team’s official sleeve sponsor for the 2022/23 season.

Africa-based Mukuru explained that the partners work well together as football is ‘the most supported sport in the continent’. 

Barry Webber, Commercial Director of Crystal Palace, commented: “This is a really exciting partnership for Crystal Palace, and we’re thrilled to welcome Mukuru on board.

“As a club, we are incredibly proud of our links with the African continent, which were encapsulated by midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate winning the African Cup of Nations earlier this year.

“This partnership will help us to continue to expand our international fanbase, and Mukuru joins us at a fantastically exciting time for the club, both on the pitch and off of it.”

Additionally, Mukuru underlined its intention to ‘unite people globally’, and stated that the firm’s customers identified Crystal Palace as one of the teams that they support.

The top-flight team continues to explore sponsorship opportunities with financial firms, after also partnering with online payment solution provider AstroPay earlier this year.

As a result, AstroPay branding and logos features on Crystal Palace training kit and across LED advertising at its Selhurst Park stadium in Croydon on match days, as well as on social media channels.
