Manchester City has agreed to extend its long term partnership with Korean tyre manufacturer NEXEN TIRE

Since the launch of the collaboration in 2015, Manchester City has gone on to win 12 major trophies, four of which Premier League titles, and now the club will try to top their success with one of its longest serving partners by its side.

Throughout the years, NEXEN has expanded its support to include backing for both Man City’s men’s and women’s teams, together with additional help provided for the Elite Development Squad.

Furthermore, the tyre manufacturer has also served as the title sponsor for the US-held youth Manchester City Cup tournament. NEXEN was also involved in Manchester City becoming the first Premier League club to announce a sleeve sponsorship back in 2017, and its branding will remain there until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Ferran Soriano, CEO at City Football Group, commented: “NEXEN TIRE has been part of the City family for a long time and this new extension will take us to more than a decade of partnership. We have shared and enjoyed historic and very successful moments, celebrating 12 trophies together.

“We want to thank Nexen for their continued commitment, support and inspiration and we are looking forward to working together throughout the next term, for more innovation and celebrations.”

Other details around the long-term deal include content collaboration opportunities, as well as the activation of pre-season tours by NEXEN that will take place in summer with the Manchester City men’s first team’s visit to South Korea. NEXEN branding will also remain visible on the club’s team bus and across the Etihad Stadium.

Travis Kang, Global CEO of NEXEN TIRE, said: “We are very excited to continue our long-term partnership with Manchester City, which will surpass a decade of collaboration by the end of the new term.

“Both parties are aligned to support and back each other up while inspiring people through our collaboration. This long-term partnership will allow us to innovate and grow internationally as NEXEN TIRE continues to expand our market and product offering.”
