Aramco’s extension with FIFA has been followed up by a four-year renewal of its partnership with the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The Saudi Arabian national oil company will continue as a premier partner of the ICC covering all men’s and women’s senior games, as well as under-19 events until the end of 2027.

This sponsorship activity will encompass the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the US in June, followed by the women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh in September and October.

ICC Chief Executive, Geoff Allardice, said: “We are delighted to be extending our relationship with Aramco for another four years, as a Premier Partner on our major men’s and women’s events through to the end of 2027.

“The ICC has enjoyed a strong working relationship with Aramco since the partnership began in 2022 and we look forward to that continuing over the next few years.”

The duo detailed that a key focus of the renewed partnership will be to engage a younger audience of cricket followers. The partners seek to build on progress made during the initial 18 months of the first deal.

Looking ahead, Aramco and the ICC plan to continue the Aramco player of the match, player of the tournament and power performance awards over the four year duration of the renewed arrangement.

This also marks a step up of Aramco’s continuing engagement with sports. Just last month the firm became FIFA’s first major worldwide energy partner in a sponsorship deal covering the 2026 FIFA World Cup and 2027 Women’s Cup.

In addition to showcasing a continuation of Aramco’s sports marketing, the move is also indicative of Saudi Arabia’s growing role in sports. The country, in particular its capital city Riyadh, has become a host to the likes of world title professional boxing matches, WWE, WTA tennis and the UFC.

Aramco Vice President Public Affairs, Khalid A.Al-Zamil, said: “I am thrilled with the extension of our partnership with the International Cricket Council for another four years.

“Cricket transcends boundaries, uniting millions around the globe, similar to Aramco’s commitment to fostering collaboration and excellence. We aim to continue supporting the growth of cricket through our key assets and bringing people together through the spirit of sport.”
