Wrexham AFC’s promotion to the third tier of the English football system has been celebrated by one of its main partners, United Airlines, in a unique manner.

The multinational airline has developed amenity kits in partnership with the club, which will be handed out to passengers in its premium cabins for long-haul flights from 1 June.

United has been a partner of the North Wales club since June 2023, with the airline flying the team out for its first ever American tour. The partnership came about three years after the club was purchased by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

“With our amenity kits, we always aim to provide customers with products that make their travel journey more comfortable as well as create one-of-a-kind keepsakes for them to enjoy well beyond their flight,” said Peter Wolkowski, Director of Onboard Product Design at United.

“Wrexham’s story is one that has been documented and celebrated these last few years, so we’re thrilled to now give United customers team-branded gear they won’t be able to find anywhere else.”

The amenity kits feature a range of travel essentials complete with Wrexham AFC branding, including eye mask, toothbrush and toothpaste, as well as exclusive Therabody skincare products. Customers on United Polaris flights longer than 14 hours will also receive Wrexham-branded pyjamas.

United has noted the increased publicity Wrexham has garnered over recent years since the widely covered takeover by the Canadian and American acting duo Reynolds and McElhenney.

The years saw the club gain global fame via the docu-series ‘Welcome to Wrexham’, chronicling Reynolds and McElhenney’s entry into football club ownership and Wrexham’s subsequent journey through the English football pyramid.

The team has now secured promotion to League One at the end of the 2023/24 season. United’s logo will be featured on the front of the club’s jersey throughout the forthcoming 2024/25 League One campaign.
