The NBA’s Charlotte Hornets and North Carolina retail store Lowe’s have announced an extension of their long-term partnership, in which the latter remains the team’s Official Home Improvement Retailer.
Under the multi-year agreement, the Hornets and Lowe’s will continue to prioritise community engagement, which has been a key component of the partnership, including support of the annual Hornets Legacy Project sponsored by Lowe’s.
Lowe’s will also retain its brand presence within the Spectrum Centre and the “Lowe’s Drilling Threes” campaign will continue to be utilised both in-arena and via Hornets social and broadcast channels, celebrating every three-point shot made by the Hornets.
Hornets Sports & Entertainment President & Vice Chairman, Fred Whitfield, commented: “We are pleased to extend our partnership with Lowe’s and to continue the great work we have done together in the community.
“As we celebrate the 35th anniversary of our inaugural season, it is particularly exciting to have longtime teammates like Lowe’s continue to support our franchise, especially those that also match our enthusiasm and dedication when it comes to giving back to the community.”
Additionally, Lowe’s announced that it has added Hornets legend and North Carolina Sports Hall of Famer, Muggsy Bogues, to the Lowe’s Home Team, a group of professional athletes and Lowe’s associates that inspires workers to take on home improvement projects and to better their communities.
“Lowe’s is a very proud partner of the Charlotte Hornets – and we’re thrilled to welcome the legendary Muggsy Bogues to our Lowe’s Home Team roster,” said Jen Wilson, Lowe’s Senior Vice President, Enterprise Brand and Marketing.
“Like the Hornets and Muggsy, Lowe’s is deeply committed to giving back to the community in which we live, work and play. We’re happy to build on what we’ve accomplished together with the Hornets and to further invest in our hometown Charlotte communities through partnering with Muggsy.”
