National Student Esports (NSE) has named the snack brand Pringles an official partner of the British University Esports Championship (BUEC).

The partnership is set to ‘elevate the university gaming and esports experience for students’ across the UK throughout the full calendar year, building upon the success of the previous collaboration around the ‘Stay in the Game’ campaign in 2023

The new deal comes at a busy time, as NSE’s spring season of the BUEC launches on 4 February. In the last academic year over 2,000 teams from 111 universities competed in over 5000 games, making the BUEC the focal point of university esports.

Alex Coulson, Managing Director at NSE, said: “This latest partnership with Pringles is testament to the power of the NSE community. We are so happy that brands like Pringles are expanding their commitment to grassroots esports and gaming.

“The students had a great time competing in the Pringles #StayInTheGame challenges last year and together, we can’t wait to craft more unforgettable experiences for our players and dedicated fans of Pringles.”

Pringles will join NSE at Insomnia, where the latter will be staging the Finals of the British University Esports Championship, bringing universities from all across the UK to battle it out and see who will be crowned Esports University of the Year.

At the gaming festival, the snacking brand will have its own dedicated space within the NSE area, where it will be positioned next to other partners such as Monster Energy, which extended its partnership with NSE in January.

Evie Pickering, Brand Activation Executive at Pringles UK, commented: “It’s great to sign with NSE, reaffirming our commitment to connecting with university students and expanding our footprint in the university esports scene.”

Students will also be able to look forward to dedicated Pringles community events coming this year, which will be focused on more fun formats for students of all skill levels to get involved in, featuring a mixture of different games.

Pickering concluded: “This collaboration reinforces our belief in the power of bringing people together to create unforgettable moments. We can’t wait to see the incredible passion and talent that these students will undoubtedly showcase.”
