FIBA is bringing its live streaming service, Courtside 1891, to DAZN to increase the visibility of FIBA World Cup and Qualifier games.

DAZN will partner with FIBA and Two Circles to bring Courtside 1891 as a standalone offering on its platform. In addition to FIBA World Cup and Qualifier games being accessible on the DAZN platform, FIBA Continental Cup and Youth World Cup matches will also be available to watch.

Furthermore, users can watch live and on-demand content from pan-regional club competitions from the Basketball Champions League, EuroLeague Women and East Asia Super League, as well as Liga Endesa, NBL, Japanese B League and more domestic leagues.

Shay Segev, DAZN CEO, said: “DAZN already has a strong portfolio of basketball on our platform. Basketball is the third most watched sport on DAZN and we have big ambitions to become a primary destination for fans of the sport across the world.

“We have had a long and collaborative relationship with FIBA, and I look forward to working ever more closely with them and other partners to bring this premium action to basketball fans.”

With FIBA bringing its content to DAZN in both premium paid-for and free-to-access packages, this builds on the two parties’ long standing relationship that dates back to 2016.

DAZN and FIBA began a joint venture which saw the launch of FIBA Media to maximise the B2B distribution of the international basketball organisations media rights.

Under the new agreement, FIBA will leverage DAZN’s global reach and technology stack to extend its direct-to-consumer distribution and develop new engaging and products for Courtside 1891.

The DAZN agreement comes at a time of increasing digital growth for FIBA after the organisation announced a record-breaking year for social media engagement.

FIBA social media platforms, such as X, YouTube, Facebook and more, witnessed a 99.4% increase in 2023 from the year prior, with a new total engagement high of 2.4 billion.

Frank Leenders, Director General of FIBA Media and Marketing Services, added: “FIBA is very pleased to announce this partnership with DAZN, which represents an important extension of the distribution and visibility of FIBA’s major events through the Courtside 1891 product.

“Furthermore, this addition to the already expansive partnership between FIBA and DAZN is an example of the synergies we have achieved together. DAZN is the global leader in sports D2C and they continue to recognise the undoubted value of both international and club basketball.”

The first FIBA games to be showcased on DAZN will see the USA and France women’s teams compete at the FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament this month, as well as FIBA Continental Cup 2025 Qualifiers for free with Courtside 1891 on DAZN.
