Emirates has become the official airline partner of The Championships, Wimbledon in a multi-year deal with the oldest of the four tennis Grand Slams.

As the official airline partner of Wimbledon, Emirates has said that it will “take the world of tennis to new heights”, with several activations planned between the 1 to 14 July, when the tournament is set to take place at The All England Lawn Tennis Club

Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, commented: “From hard court to grass court – we’re proud to be growing our presence in the world of tennis. Wimbledon is a major sporting event viewed by millions around the world, and we’re delighted to be associated with such a well-respected brand.”

Through its agreement with Wimbledon, the airline is now a partner of all four Grand Slam tournaments and has long-term relationships with other tennis tournaments around the world.

Since 2013, Emirates has been the official airline of the ATP Tour and a premier partner since 2016, while sponsoring the four Grand Slams, the US Open (since 2012), Roland-Garros (since 2013), Australian Open (since 2015).

The company has notably backed the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships since 1993 and supports 60 other tournaments annually.

Clark added: “Emirates has always been a supporter of tennis and as a sponsor of all four Grand Slams – our commitment to the sport is as staunch as ever. We look forward to serving up world-class tennis action this summer, and to celebrating the very best of tennis with fans from all over the world.”

As part of the partnership, the airline will receive a host of benefits, including prominent on-court branding at Centre Court and No.1 Court, receive hospitality tickets and have the chance to engage with tennis fans through on-site activations, gaining marketing, digital and social media exposure.

In addition, Emirates will have the opportunity to participate in ‘Wimbleworld’ on the metaverse platform Roblox, featuring branded tennis courts and obstacle courses, further expanding their reach and engagement with younger fans.

Deborah Jevans CBE, Chair of the All England Club, stated: “We are delighted to welcome Emirates to our family of Official Partners at Wimbledon. In partnering with Emirates, as Official Airline Partner, Wimbledon is joining forces with a premium brand and one of the world’s leading sponsors of tennis, and sport more generally.

“As Emirates embarks on its fourth decade supporting tennis, this exciting partnership takes the organisation’s investment and connection to the sport to the next level.”

The two organisations have announced that they are teaming up to make a difference through social impact initiatives across the UK.

This collaboration will establish a multimillion-pound “Force for Good” fund dedicated to supporting and promoting initiatives that benefit society and local communities, with more information about this fund planning to be disclosed in 2024.

Jevans concluded: “We have received record levels of interest from the UK and around the world in attending The Championships this year, and support from Official Partners like Emirates helps us maintain the event at the pinnacle of sport for both players and fans.”
