The English Football League (EFL) and Stats Perform have sealed a multi-year deal for exclusive international live-streaming rights for licensed sports betting operators.

Beginning with the 2024/25 season, the sports technology firm will have exclusive rights to offer a full range of live audiovisual streams for selected EFL matches to licensed sportsbooks outside the UK (excluding the US) via its Bet LiveStreams service.

The package includes the Carabao Cup, the Championship, League One, League Two and the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.

Ben Wright, Chief Commercial Officer at the EFL, commented: “We are delighted to partner with Stats Perform, a highly trusted global leader in sports AI and technology and the pioneer in live streaming for betting. We look forward to working closely together to deliver an exciting and innovative product.”

The partnership will use Stats Perform’s live streaming technology and Opta data to improve how bettors watch and engage with sports. Features will include AI-powered Instant Highlights and Opta Smart Stats Overlays to enhance the viewing and betting experience.

Stats Perform has a vast portfolio of sports and leagues, including LaLiga, Serie A and popular events such as WTA tennis, FIBA,  NBL basketball, and ICC Cricket, all through its Bet LiveStreams service.

Andrew Ashenden, Chief Betting Officer at Stats Perform, said: “We are thrilled to add the English Football League’s storied teams and thrilling, high quality competitions to our Bet LiveStreams offering.

“This agreement underscores our commitment to helping our licensed sportsbook partners provide the most trusted and entertaining sports betting experiences to their customers. The EFL’s rich history and passionate fanbase make it an ideal addition to their services.”

The EFL, which kicked off last week, is set for unprecedented domestic and worldwide coverage. Although this deal doesn’t include US coverage, the EFL agreed to a new multi-year broadcast rights deal with CBS in July.

Alongside this deal, the EFL also announced that it is on the hunt for interested parties looking to help in the production of a potential documentary series, which it intends to begin filming for either the 2025/26 or 2026/27 season.
