The Green Bay Packers have reported a 39% rise in operating profit for FY2025, driven by a rare ninth home game, as the franchise also launched a new heritage uniform commemorating its first year of public ownership.
The Green Bay Packers have reported a 12.5% drop in net income to $85.6m, due to a weaker year for investment returns.
However, operating profit of $83.7m for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025 – a 39.3% increase on the previous year. This comes amid the NFL’s smallest-market team benefiting from a rare scheduling windfall and continued investment in its stadium infrastructure.
In figures released July 23, the publicly owned franchise cited a ninth regular-season home game at Lambeau Field, the first under the NFL’s 17-game schedule, as the key driver of its $34.6 million (13.7%) year-on-year rise in local revenue.
National revenue also increased by $30.3 million (7.5%), in line with league-wide gains from broadcasting contracts and streaming distribution.
Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy described it as “a successful year for the organisation,” but acknowledged the exceptional nature of the additional fixture, which will not be guaranteed annually. The ninth game alternates between conferences and may increasingly be allocated to international venues.
“On the football side, facilities are a key component to the team’s success,” Murphy said. “From the daily preparations for the games, to the ability to recruit players and staff to join the Packers.”
In 2022, the team’s designated ninth home game was moved to London. In 2024, Green Bay travelled to Brazil to face the Eagles, who were designated the host. With the NFL committed to expanding its international footprint, questions remain over how often the Packers will retain similar local commercial advantages going forward.
While operating profit increased, the team’s net income fell by 12.5% to $85.6m, due to a weaker year for investment returns. However, the franchise’s corporate reserve still grew to $579 million, up from $536 million.
Charitable impact rose to $13 million, reflecting continued community engagement, and Titletown – the mixed-use development adjacent to Lambeau – remains a strategic asset cited for its local economic impact.

Facility costs seen as essential to competition
The Packers also recorded a $41.3 million increase (7%) in expenses, attributed primarily to rising travel costs and the depreciation of recent upgrades to Lambeau Field and football operations facilities.
Murphy defended the investments as necessary “costs to compete,” noting that over $675 million has now been spent on infrastructure since the 2003 stadium redevelopment.
For accounting purposes, these investments do not appear as immediate expenses but are spread over time as depreciation. The latest enhancements — including improved concourses and upgraded coaching and player spaces — have now begun to impact the income statement.
Packers unveil 1923 Classic uniform and helmet
Coinciding with the financial release, the franchise also revealed a new heritage uniform inspired by its first season as a publicly owned corporation in 1923.
The 1923 Classic will debut at Lambeau later this year and features navy blue jerseys with gold numbers and stripes, tan pants, and a first-of-its-kind hand-painted helmet designed to emulate the appearance of leather headwear from the NFL’s early years.
The helmet, a first in NFL history, includes hand-finished leather strap effects and painted distressing, reflecting the team’s historical look. The full 1923 Classic Collection, presented by American Family Insurance, is now available in the Packers Pro Shop and online. It includes a broad range of retro-branded apparel and merchandise, as well as collectible replica helmets.
The launch follows previous classic uniforms commemorating the 1929, 1940s, and 1950s eras, continuing the team’s practice of drawing on its long-standing history to drive retail engagement and reinforce brand identity.
