CBS Sports joins forces with HYPE to drive ‘new tech in sports coverage’

Sports innovation hub HYPE Sports has joined forces with CBS Sports to create ‘new technologies’ for the American media network and its coverage of sporting events.

Under the new agreement, CBS will tap into HYPE’s capabilities to explore innovative solutions using Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), as well as remote broadcasting.

This would allow CBS Sports to retain its position as one of the leaders in sports broadcasts across the US and the rest of the world, expanding its linear and digital content offerings and unlocking more experiences for the fans.

Jason Cohen, Vice President Technical Operations at CBS Sports, said: “We are excited to work with HYPE Sports Innovation and many of the leading technology companies from around the world to further enhance our coverage and deliver never-before-seen technology to our audiences, while developing more creative and compelling content, as well as innovative experiences.”

There is also an application process opened for startups wanting to collaborate with HYPE and CBS Sports on driving new technologies in sports coverage.

Amir Raveh, Founder and CEO of HYPE Sports Innovation, added: “We are committed to continue pushing the boundaries of sports experience through our collaboration with CBS Sports.

“Together, we have the opportunity to create an unforgettable sports viewing experience by introducing new technology and innovation that fans will truly love.”
