Global gaming platform Football.com has signed renowned football coach José Mourinho as the company’s global ambassador.

Mourinho first partnered with Football.com as a brand ambassador in August, producing exclusive monthly articles for the sports, betting and media outlet, with his appearance in marketing now factored into the deal.

The signing was celebrated with a new ad where Mourinho takes the viewer throughout football history by revisiting all of his greatest achievements in European football under the classical accords of a violin music.

By uttering the words “I am relentless. I am ambition. I am a winner. I am José Mourinho. I am Football.com,” the Special One binds his very special success-ridden career with the excitement of football that Football.com provides through its gaming, betting and content platform.

The main ad, which can be watched here, is a minute-and-a-half in total, but there is also a version tailored for TV which is 30 seconds in length and is scheduled to soon be shown in Africa on some of the continent’s most prominent TV platforms and channels.

“Filmed in the heart of London, the ad distinguishes itself not only through its emotional depth but also its technological innovation,” Football.com said.

Greg Parsons, VP of Business Development at Football.com, added: “As Mourinho delighted sports fans during his illustrious career, Football.com shares the same principles in igniting the passion of sports in our users.

“This is fundamentally why the partnership with Mourinho resonated with Football.com as we look to push the boundaries in user engagement and entertainment at the intersection between sports and innovative technology.”

Some of Mourinho’s greatest achievements include his winning UEFA Champions League run with Porto, Chelsea’s first league title in 50 years, and coming on top in the Spanish battle of titans with his Real Madrid against Guardiola’s Barcelona.

All of these and more are mentioned in the new ad, on which Elias Gallego, VP of Marketing at Football.com, commented: “We aimed to draw parallels between Mourinho’s winning character and Football.com’s pioneering vision, unwavering commitment to technology, and dedication to providing the finest user experience.”

As part of the agreement, Mourinho will author one article per month for the Football.com platform where he reveals exclusive details from his time as a football coach.
