FC Bayern Munich has signed a new multi-year partnership with German data software solutions provider Zeotap to create new digital content strategies.
The focus of the partnership will see FC Bayern and Zeotap look to maximise fan engagement on digital platforms for both its football and basketball teams, with a sponsorship element attached to the latter.
The German sports club will utilise Zeotap’s customer data platform to not only reach FC Bayern’s domestic fanbase in Germany, but also leverage its standing as one of Europe’s and world football’s most recognisable football clubs.
Michael Diederich, Deputy CEO of FC Bayern, said: “FC Bayern always wants to be close and tangible for its fans, both here in Bavaria and across the world. The partnership with Zeotap represents a further milestone here, as we’ll now be able to reach the individual fan in a targeted and focused way, making the FC Bayern experience even more personal.”
Marko Pesic, Managing Director of FC Bayern Basketball, added: “We are delighted that we and our team are involved in this new and important cooperation.
“Like FC Bayern as a whole, we also want to inspire our fans, and it’s important to maintain direct contact not only at our matches in the hall, but also worldwide via our digital platforms.”
FC Bayern and Zeotap will look to set new standards in digital fan interaction by tapping into modern technologies to further enrich the fan experience.
Daniel Heer, CEO and Founder of Zeotap, concluded: “We’re proud to have gained FC Bayern Munich as a partner for our CDP. Now it’s about giving everything to turn things into reality and produce excellent results.”
There has been considerable effort from football leagues and clubs to focus on digital content strategies due to their large following on digital platforms such as X, Facebook, YouTube and more.
Most recently, Ligue 1 and Ligue 2will use WSC Sports’ AI-tailored technology to unearth new ways to connect with its fans in France and the rest of Europe through video content and fan engaging posts.
