Celtic Football Club has renewed its front-of-shirt partnership with Dafabet for an additional three years.
Under the extended agreement, Celtic FC has indicated that the partnership with Dafabet will continue as it has been and the Scottish club has pointed to Dafabet’s ongoing commitment to the Celtic FC Foundation.
This includes donations of front-of-shirt space for campaigns. It also involves supplying match tickets to local causes, gifting Play on the Park rights to supporters and organisations, sponsoring charity matches and offering support for Foundation activities.
Michael Nicholson, Chief Executive at Celtic FC, stated: “Dafabet has been a hugely important partner of the club for so many years and we are delighted to agree this new extension.
“It is a partner which has also demonstrated a real and meaningful commitment to our charitable and community dimension, something we are extremely appreciative of.
“It is through the club’s strong fundamentals that we continue to be able to attract and deliver such quality partnerships and through agreements such as the one we announce today we are able to look ahead with confidence. We thank Dafabet for their continued commitment to Celtic.”
This extension makes the betting brand the longest-running shirt partner in the club’s history, with a partnership that has lasted 12 consecutive years, beginning in the 2016/17 season.
John Cruces, Head of Sponsorship at Dafabet, commented: “We are very happy to be extending our partnership with Celtic FC.
“To be the longest front of shirt partner on such an iconic and worldwide recognised shirt is a proud moment. To think it was back to the 2016/17 season, an invincible season, that we were first on the shirt is somewhat surreal.
“The measure of success the club has had during our partnership has been incredible and testament to all, both on and off the park. As always we wish the club the very best and look forward to seeing more records broken and achieving common goals.”
This deal further bolsters Scottish football’s ties with the gambling industry. Earlier this year, the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) solidified its relationship by naming William Hill as the primary sponsor for all four divisions – the Premiership, Championship, League One and League Two.
Whereas in England the gambling sector faces growing fan backlash in England, particularly with the Premier League‘s decision to ban front-of-shirt sponsorships from gambling companies by 2027.
