The National Hockey League (NHL) has agreed to an extension of its North American sponsorship agreement with igaming provider BetMGM.

As a result, BetMGM will continue to be the NHL’s official sports betting and gaming partner, receive more airtime during national broadcasts, and retain the rights to create NHL-themed casino games.

BetMGM CEO, Adam Greenblatt, commented: “Our partnership extension with the NHL enables us to enhance the BetMGM product and offer fans unforgettable entertainment built around the game they love.

“The NHL is more thrilling than ever – a symphony of athleticism, teamwork, and skill on skates. We look forward to bringing our customers exceptional live experiences and new content.”

Moreover, BetMGM’s branding will be visible across the NHL’s regular season and during the Stanley Cup Playoffs thanks to the league’s Digitally Enhanced Dasherboards technology.

Jason Jazayeri, NHL Vice President, Business Development, added: “We are thrilled about our partnership extension with BetMGM. The evolution of our partnership with BetMGM will focus on building unique and compelling fan experiences, as well as event activation and media programming all with an eye towards delivering exciting new ways for our fans to interact and engage with the sport they love.”

BetMGM and the NHL also share a common vision towards the promotion of responsible gaming, with both entities being official partners of the American Gaming Association’s (AGA) ‘Have A Game Plan. Bet Responsibly.’ campaign.

Alongside the MLB and NBA, the NHL has also been active in encouraging responsible sports wagering. Via a campaign with the National Council on Problem Gambling, ‘Never Know What’s Next’, with support from bookmakers.

BetMGM is also the provider of the GameSense industry programme, which is developed by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) and licensed to MGM Resorts and helps customers play responsibly through a safe digital experience.
