The EFL has announced that five fixtures will be showcased in shared reality at Cosm‘s immersive entertainment venues in Los Angeles and Dallas.

In collaboration with CBS, the EFL will broadcast at least six Sky Bet EFL matches at Cosm’s immersive venues. The broadcasts begin on  3 December, with one additional match to be confirmed later.

The currently confirmed fixtures to be shown at Cosm’s venues include Wrexham vs. Barnsley on 3 December, Sheffield United vs. Burnley on 26 December, Wrexham vs. Birmingham City on 23 January, Coventry City vs. Leeds United on 8 February, and Huddersfield Town vs. Wrexham on 4 March.

In an effort to bring fans closer to the action, Cosm installs several discreet 8K cameras around a match stadium to capture all angles. This is then “stitched” together to create the unique wide-angle effect that recreates being in the ground itself.

The EFL is the second football league to feature matches at Cosm’s immersive venues, following the Premier League. However, Cosm has previously collaborated with other leagues and organisations, including the NBA, NFL, and UFC.

This partnership was facilitated through American broadcaster CBS, which has a longstanding relationship with Cosm. In July, CBS and the EFL signed a multi-year agreement granting US audiences access to up to 250 matches annually across the Championship, League One, League Two, Carabao Cup, and Bristol Street Motors Trophy competitions.

Aiming to expand its footprint in the US, Cosm represents an innovation that helps the League boost its visibility and reach in the region. This effort is bolstered by Relevent Sports, which actively promotes the EFL alongside CBS coverage.

In March, the league entered a partnership with Relevent Sports. At the time, Boris Gartner, President of Relevent Sports, commented: “As the EFL’s popularity continues to grow globally, we are thrilled to be partnering on this landmark rights agreement for the distribution of international football in the Americas.

“We are confident that Relevent’s expertise in co-investing with our partners will deliver a fantastic viewing experience and will drive new fans to the EFL.”
