Mastercard named headline sponsor of ICC Cricket World Cup

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that Mastercard has become the global partner for the 2023 Men’s Cricket World Cup

Set to take place in India from 5 October to 19 November, Mastercard will provide unique experiences for cardholders and customers with exclusive benefits for cricket fans across the globe. 

Aiming to experience the game “like never before”, Mastercard cardholders will be able to access a range of benefits such as meeting cricket legends, an up close experience of the cricket world cup trophy ceremony and an unique matchday experience. 

An exclusive 24-hour presale window will become available for those eligible. Children between the ages of 12-18 will also have the chance to be part of the flagbearer programme along with receiving official ICC merchandise. 

ICC Chief Executive, Geoff Allardice, said: “We are delighted to announce Mastercard as a global partner for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, the pinnacle event of the one-day game. 

“Mastercard brings its rich experience of sports partnerships to the table, and the ICC is looking forward to collaborating with a renowned global brand to bring many benefits to cricket lovers around the world.” 

The card network giant has a long-standing relationship with sports and looks to continue imprinting its brand on another worldwide sporting event such as the ICC mens cricket world cup. 

Mastercard’s ties with the ICC highlights the brand’s “commitment to cricket” according to the payment firm, and adds international cricket to its sports sponsorship portfolio which includes associations such as the UEFA Champions League and PGA Tour
