The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Nashville Predators, New York Islanders, and Los Angeles Kings have all announced HelloFresh as the first meal kit partner of each team.

The collaborations will see the integrated food solutions company look to reach new audiences through digital marketing and in-arena signage and experiences advertising its meal offering.

Chris Junghans, Nashville Predators Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer, commented: “We are excited to partner with the preeminent meal delivery service HelloFresh. We all know life can get hectic and typically nutrition takes a back seat when that happens.

“With HelloFresh, Preds fans will have a delicious and time-saving way to prepare meals for themselves and their families.”

Furthermore, the partnerships will also provide fans of the teams opportunities to win branded gear through sweepstakes and in-arena contests along with exclusive deals on HelloFresh meal kits.

Bryan Calka, Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships at the New York Islanders, added that as an organisation, there is a dedication towards giving back to the fans whilst the partnerships create a ‘unique offer’ with VIP experiences.

Jens Reich, Managing Director and CMO, HelloFresh US, noted: “Hockey fans are some of the most passionate, loyal fans in the world who love what their team and city stand for. HelloFresh is proud to fuel the game while showcasing our various menu offerings and meal solutions within key markets.”

In March last year, HelloFresh made its debut into team sponsorships in a deal with the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens, similarly, as the exclusive meal partner of the team. This partnership included a comedic content series with the team’s mascot and former team centre Steve Bégin, streamed across NHL.com and the Canadiens’ YouTube.

On the new partnerships, Josh Veilleux, Senior Vice President, AEG Global Partnerships, LA Kings, praised the food firm on its focus on sustainability and commitment to helping people to eat healthy, stating that this ‘mirrors our desire to bring our fans nothing short of the very best experiences’.

He concluded: “We look forward to expanding their reach across Los Angeles and bringing our fans even more value as a result of this new partnership.”
